Today we present the final installment of the “lost” La Sudar EP, “ERF”.
On Monday, we received a message from them:
hey S&W
hearing the responses from your followers to the ERF ep, got me digging around my archives for any context to the ERF recording sessions. i didn’t really find any, but i did find this image, which is likely a cover image i made for the ep. please note that hearing these tracks again, i now consider this ep “unfinished” rather than lost – i doubt i would have made cover art for five minutes of music. it must have been a project i abandoned sometime in 2011, which, as you’re aware, was right smack in the middle of my “lost years”.

the air smells different
raindrop sentries hang in

little difference
has been offered to the
lively
monolith

the curve

but move on to something else

If you remember from last week, we, overworked and scrambling for content, reached out to La Sudar to see if they could provide us with any audio for our Audio Saturdays feature and they came through with a “lost” ep they have no memory of recording. Here’s the second track, provocatively called “erf two”

another ramble to pass the time
another kiss without flesh
another tori amos record through the floorboards
another lost ballot box
another envious complaint
it’s what you do when the world is sleeping that matters
let them read about it in the morning papers

the alienated wonder of what one is to do
when the clichés fit
and the profundity does not suffice
enter:
another chewed up pencil
another five minute nap in an office chair
another borrowed fax another fake hello
another greeting with stained teeth
another meeting more slides and more
each promising it it will be the immovable object
the thought is fixed and becomes truth
sadly this is not the case
young golf shirted white men
laugh and
the tweed jacket types (patches and all)
rub their chins as their girlfriends give any observers a
show with a worried look and an arm grab
as usual
it all hinges on the turnout
