views: stress
the tension can ease
like a front passing through
yesterday’s weather
off to tomorrow
we don’t join
the onward motion, though
the flow
we slide
we let go
and cameras catch
us leave
from behind
views: bars
nothing made sense
was the last thing he said
all part of
part of a plan to descend
and certain bars lead
while certain bars conspire to fence
in
views: the spread
on seeing the great fan
puffing the fractal
distributing
a common reaction
is to open
and stay open
go with it
views: rooftops
on the 2 train
through the bronx
in the early morning
i first got to know rooftops
the smoke
its structure
panning over a purple sky
views: focus
even with eyes closed
the instinct is to describe
visually,
focus being on what’s missing
what’s missing
a pillow sunshine
a fog
what about the smell
how its going: coast
every day i have gone out
it has been overcast and gray
you would think it’s all about
to sit real low and stay and stay
nothing stops the slide.

for the low light,
for the beauty
that would otherwise elude me,
for the glide

i found a cure for hesitation
on the windowsill
another day to stretch my sin
till the sun falls still
birds rest on statues of birds
men take down statues of men
cause and effect,
sure.
but no ill will

top or bottom,

the sad world
and its clutches
how its going: abandon
there seems to be a place for everything
here to sit to rest and there to hide and seek
deep the roots will follow for what they need
a soft trust leads and protects the sea from me
the world is currents cursed with a high tide
but walk after sound to find yourself inside
